The Slapstick Filmmaking Competition is a fun and creative contest where kids aged 8-14 can showcase their filmmaking skills by creating short films in slapstick style.
The competition is best suited to children aged 8-14 . No prior filmmaking experience is required—just creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to have fun!
To enter, participants need to register through StarTime Live’s online platform. Once registered, they can submit their film by following the instructions provided on the competition page or watch the video under the heading ‘How to Enter’ on this web page.
Films must adhere to the Slapstick theme, be appropriate for all ages, and be under 3 minutes in length. Detailed rules and guidelines can be found here.
Participants can use any recording device they have access to, including smartphones, tablets, or cameras. We encourage creativity with available resources!
There is no fee to enter the competition. Participation is completely free.
Prizes will be awarded to winners and runner’s up in each category. In addition to prizes, winners will have their films showcased on our platform.
Films will be judged based on creativity, originality, adherence to the theme, and overall execution. Our panel of judges includes industry professionals and experienced filmmakers.
The Slapstick Filmmaking – the submission deadline is midnight on the 29th November, 2024.
Be sure to submit your film before this date to be considered in the competition.
While we encourage kids to take the lead, parents can offer support and guidance. However, the creative ideas and majority of the work should come from the participants themselves.
Finalists will be notified via email and announced on our socials. Finalist films will be featured on our platform, and prizes will be awarded during film festival.
