The Animation Film Festival Competition is an exciting opportunity for children of Sanitarium, aged 5-12, to showcase the LEGO animation skills they developed during the StarTime holiday workshop. It’s a celebration of creativity, storytelling, and fun!

Children who attended the StarTime LEGO Animation Workshop on 16th January in New Zealand or 23rd January in Australia are eligible to participate. No prior animation experience is needed—just bring your creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for fun!

To enter the competition, create an account for your child on StarTime Live by clicking the Register Now button. This account will give you access to “how-to” videos and other fantastic content to support their learning. A StarTime Live account is also required to participate in our Livestream Film Festival!

Films must adhere to the LEGO theme, be appropriate for all ages, and be under 3 minutes in length. Detailed rules and guidelines can be found here.

There is no fee to enter the competition. Participation is completely free.

Winners in each category will receive exciting LEGO prizes! Additionally, their films will be showcased on our StarTime Live platform, celebrating their creativity and talent.

The films will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, alignment with the theme, and overall execution. Our panel of judges features industry professionals and experienced filmmakers who are excited to celebrate your child’s talent and imagination.

The submission deadline for The Animation Film Festival is midnight on 24th January 2025.

If your child attends StarTime’s Animation Workshop and completes their animation, their film will automatically be entered into the competition—no extra steps required!

If your child’s film is selected as a finalist, you’ll receive an email notification on Friday, 31st January. The finalist films will be showcased on our platform, and prizes will be awarded during the live film festival event!
