The Slapstick and Reverse Filmmaking Competition is a fun and creative contest where kids aged 9-15 can showcase their filmmaking skills by creating short films in slapstick style or with a reverse storytelling approach. The competition is divided into Juniors (9-12 years old) and Seniors (13-15 years old) categories.
The competition is open to all juniors aged 9-12 and seniors aged 13-15. No prior filmmaking experience is required—just creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to have fun!
To enter, participants need to register through our online portal. Once registered, they can submit their film by following the instructions provided on the competition page.
Films must adhere to the competition theme (slapstick or reverse storytelling), be appropriate for all ages, and meet the specified length requirements. Detailed rules and guidelines can be found on our registration page.
Participants can use any recording device they have access to, including smartphones, tablets, or cameras. We encourage creativity with available resources!
There is no fee to enter the competition. Participation is completely free.
Prizes will be awarded to winners and runner’s up in each category. 1st prize winners receive $150 and 2nd place receives $75. In addition to prizes, winners will have their films showcased on our platform.
Films will be judged based on creativity, originality, adherence to the theme, and overall execution. Our panel of judges includes industry professionals and experienced filmmakers.
1st Competition: The Slapstick Filmmaking – the submission deadline is 2nd October, 2024.
2nd Competition: Reverse Filmmaking – the submission deadline is 9th October, 2024.
Be sure to submit your film before this date to be considered in the competition.
While we encourage kids to take the lead, parents can offer support and guidance. However, the creative ideas and majority of the work should come from the participants themselves.
Finalists will be notified via email and announced on our socials. Finalist films will be featured on our platform, and prizes will be awarded during film festival for both Slapstick Filmmaking and Reverse Filmmaking.
